Following the dramatic upsurge of piracy shipping companies are increasingly employing Private Military Contractors (PMC) to provide security at high seas. According to analyst forecasts the PMC market segment will capture a significant share of maritime security market.

Somalia turned to modern day Tortuga. There is no ultimate solution to piracy problem until law and order will be established in Somalia but as an interim solution PMC is definitely a relief.
